The Department of Management is a broad-based department with nearly 20 academic staff, including nine Professors. Reflecting the diversity of the Management discipline. The Department offers a broad range of taught programs, ranging from the undergraduate BA Business Management award, top-up programs in International Business and Financial Services, to a brand-new suite of postgraduate taught programs in International Business, Management, Leadership and Communication. The Department has recently been active in developing provision in Degree Apprenticeships, an area it is intending to expand.
It is also engaged in a range of work-based courses, including the Msc Strategic Communication Leadership program which is delivered exclusively to the Government Communication Service. Reflecting its appetite for innovation, the Department has plans for new areas of curriculum development and is increasingly embracing interdisciplinary approaches to business and management education.
There are active doctoral and DBA programs and the majority of staff are involved with the supervision of doctoral students. Staff research is diverse and includes leadership, older workers, careers, corporate governance, sustainability and the environment, strategic communication, talent management, organizational plasticity and emotional labor. Research in the Department is supported by GPU’s Business School’s research centers.
